So far, 52 students have been given the opportunity to study at the University of Oxford through scholarships worth around £1 million under the Oxford Pakistan Programme. These students are from Pakistan’s less developed regions such as Sindh, Balochistan and southern Punjab. The programme’s founders emphasized the urgency of expanding educational access in Pakistan to youth where over two-thirds of the population is under 30.
Expansion of education is essential for Pakistan’s young population
The founders of the program emphasised that the need of the hour is to provide access to global educational institutions to the majority of the youth in Pakistan. This program not only opens the door to education. It also enables the youth of Pakistan to play an effective role in the world.
