Pakistani singer and actor Asim Azhar has announced breakup and the end of his three-year engagement with actress and model Meerub Ali. “Couples are made in heaven but until the right ones come together, the wrong ones fall apart.” The entertainment industry has seen many such breakups and the latest, surprising addition to this list is the split between Asim Azhar and Meerub Ali.
Meerub Ali was not Asim Azhar’s first love
Before Meerub, Asim Azhar was in a relationship with Hania Aamir but the two eventually broke up. After the breakup with Hania, Asim faced intense trolling online. Amid all the attention and speculation, he surprised fans by announcing his engagement to Meerub Ali on March 20, 2022 through a joint social media post.
Many fans welcomed the engagement news but it also stirred controversy as Meerub had previously been friends with Hania Aamir, Asim’s ex. Just a few months ago, the couple hinted at getting married in 2025, a statement that made their fans happy. However, now Asim Azhar has shared an Instagram story that officially announces the end of their relationship.

In his Instagram story, Asim wrote:
“We hope you are all well while reading this message. We want to share an important update about our personal lives, as we feel it’s important to inform those who have supported us — our fans, friends, and well-wishers.”
He continued:
“After much thought and consideration, Meerub Ali and I have decided to part ways. Although we shared beautiful moments and genuinely hoped for a future together, sometimes life takes its own course. We continue to hold great respect and regard not only for each other but also for both our families.”
Asim also wrote:
“We hope you will understand this and respect our privacy. Please give this matter the same dignity with which it began.”
Although the message used the word “we,” it was posted only by Asim Azhar. No such statement appears on Meerub Ali’s Instagram account. Moreover, both have now unfollowed each other on Instagram and all shared photos together have been removed from their profiles.
