First Innings – Bangladesh’s Struggle
After losing the toss, Bangladesh had a disastrous start. Both openers, Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon were dismissed without scoring leaving the team at 2/2. Towhid Hridoy was run out for 8.
Captain Litton Das made 28 runs off 26 balls but was dismissed by spinner Wanindu Hasaranga. By the end of nine overs, Bangladesh were struggling at 53/5 and a competitive total seemed unlikely.
However, Zakir Ali (41 runs) and Shamim Hossain (42 runs) put together a crucial 86-run stand for the sixth wicket lifting the total to 139/5 in 20 overs.
Second Innings – Sri Lanka’s Smart Chase
Sri Lanka’s start to the chase was also not special and Kusal Mendis was dismissed in the second over for just three runs. However, Pathum Nissanka and Kamil Mishara batted responsibly. The two put up a brilliant partnership of 85 runs which changed the map of the match.

Nissanka took an aggressive approach and scored 50 runs in just 34 balls, which included 6 fours and 1 six. He was dismissed by Mahedi Hasan in the 11th over. Kamil Mishara, on the other hand, played a confident innings of unbeaten 46 runs (32 balls, 4 fours, 2 sixes) and took the team to the target.
