Chinese automaker Changan Pakistan has introduced a new edition of its popular sedan Alsvin branded as the “Alsvin Black Series.” The edition will be available across all three existing variants — 1.3L Manual Comfort, 1.5L DCT Comfort and 1.5L DCT Lumiere.
- Updates limited to styling and interior changes
- No facelift or new body design introduced
- No price increase instead, discounts and two years of free servicing offered
- New exterior colours and a black interior package added

New Colours but Same Old Design
The Alsvin has retained almost the same design for the past four years and customers have long been anticipating a major facelift. Instead, the company has only introduced cosmetic changes in color and interior. With rising car prices and no design overhaul, some buyers are disappointed especially given the competition from rivals like the Toyota Yaris and Honda City.
Black Interior and Upgraded Features
The Black Series introduces a completely black cabin with leather seats, door trims, armrest and headliner.
- The Lumiere variant now comes with a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- Features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, screen mirroring, navigation and TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System)
- Two new exterior colours launched, Celestial Red and Neptune Blue

Price and Packages
Changan has kept the prices unchanged for the new edition.

Shifting Market Dynamics
Pakistan’s auto market once dominated by Toyota, Honda and Suzuki is undergoing a shift. Buyers are now increasingly experimenting with Chinese brands. Changan has already achieved notable success with its SUV Oshan X7 which has become the top-selling seven-seater in the country. The company now seeks to replicate that success in the sedan segment with the Alsvin Black Series.

Alsvin in Used Car Market
Prices of the Alsvin can be seen ranging from Rs 26 lakh to Rs 51 lakh on online platforms such as OLX and Pak wheels which shows the demand for this vehicle. Although the new edition is not a complete facelift, the black interior and large screen can be attractive to new buyers.
The Alsvin Black series can be called a cosmetic update for consumers but it remains to be seen whether the color and interior changes alone are enough to increase its sales in the market. The success of this edition in 2025 will depend on the trend of Pakistani buyers and trust in the brand.
