Pakistan’s renowned singer Hadiqa Kiani has appealed for immediate relief aid and volunteer services for flood victims. On Sunday, she visited flood-affected areas of Kasur where she inspected a relief camp and urged the public to donate food, clothing, bedding and medicines.

Urgent Needs of Food, Medicine and Bedding

In a message shared on Instagram, Kiani said that families in the flood-hit areas are facing hunger and disease.

“The people here are in desperate need of food, clothing, and medicines,” she said.

She further added that with the approaching winter, blankets and jackets would also be essential to help people endure the cold.

Call for Doctors and Medical Staff

The singer especially invited doctors and medical professionals to set up temporary medical camps in affected areas as communities are grappling with malaria and other epidemic diseases. She emphasized that this is a time to save lives and role of medical experts could prove invaluable.

Loss of Livestock and Livelihoods

Kiani also highlighted the devastation caused to livestock in different regions. Thousands of animals have been swept away while the remaining ones urgently require fodder, medicines and veterinary care.
She underlined that livestock is a critical source of livelihood and financial security for the affected families making their preservation vital.

Donation Collection Points

Hadiqa Kiani announced that her team has established a special donation camp at Dolmen Mall Lahore (Gate No. 2) where both cash and goods can be submitted. Additional collection points have been set up at:
●     Fortress Stadium, Lahore
●     Circuit House, Sheikhupura
●     District Public School, Kasur
●     Government Guru Nanak College, Nankana Sahib
She also mentioned that those unable to deliver items personally can donate via bank transfers to the Pakistan Army Flood Relief Fund.

“Vaseela-e-Raah” Campaign

It is worth noting that Kiani previously led major relief activities during the devastating 2022 floods under her campaign “Vaseela-e-Raah”. Through that initiative, she “adopted” several villages in Balochistan where she oversaw the construction of 300 homes, a school, a maternity clinic and a mosque.

Current Situation, NDMA Report

According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), this year’s monsoon rains and floods have so far claimed 910 lives and swept away 6,180 livestock. Moreover, 7,850 houses have been fully or partially destroyed.
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been the hardest hit with 3,211 houses damaged and 5,460 animals lost.
  • Reports of destruction of houses and livestock have also emerged from Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

Growing Threat in Punjab and Sindh

NDMA reports that in Punjab, over 4.1 million people have been affected making this the worst flood in the province’s history. The floodwaters are now moving toward Sindh where fresh rainfall has begun.
So far, more than 128,000 people from low-lying areas of Sindh have been relocated to safer sites.

Other Organizations Joining In

Alongside Kiani’s initiative, multiple welfare organizations and NGOs are actively engaged in relief efforts across flood-hit areas. Donation centers are being set up in various cities encouraging maximum public participation.
