Islamabad — On reaching 200 million mobile users in Pakistan, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced a special one-day national offer, under which all users will be given 2 GB free internet and 200 on-net minutes. The offer can be activated by dialing *#2200# from any network. This initiative has been taken in recognition of Pakistan’s rapid digital growth and telecom accessibility.
200 Million Subscribers: National Milestone
According to the latest PTA data, the number of mobile phone subscribers has reached 197.7 million, with which the total number of telecom subscribers in the country has exceeded 200 million. At present, 80.3 percent of the country’s population has access to mobile services.In addition, broadband subscribers have reached 150 million, while fixed line subscribers are 3.75 million.

To celebrate this milestone, a special event is being held at the PTA headquarters in Islamabad on June 20, in which the following important figures will participate:
- Mobile Network Operators (MNOs)
- Mobile Device Manufacturers (MDMs)
- Government officials and digital policymakers
The event will discuss topics such as the development of telecom services, strategies for digital inclusion, and increasing connectivity in rural areas.

Mobile companies are also providing free call and internet packages in collaboration with PTA. Mobile device manufacturers have announced to donate 10 to 15 mid-range smartphones, which will be given to the attendees of the event through a draw.
