LAHORE – The University of the Punjab (PU), one of Pakistan’s largest and oldest public universities, has officially opened undergraduate admissions for the academic year 2025–26. Aspiring students can now access and submit their online admission forms through the official portals:
A wide variety of BS programs are available across morning, evening, replica, and self-supporting formats. PU’s updated admission policy and structure aim to provide equitable academic opportunities across Punjab, including regional campuses in Gujranwala, Jhelum, and Pothohar.
PU Admission Test: 25% Weightage for Most Programs, 33% for Engineering
According to the official admission notice, all applicants for BS 1st Semester programs will have 25% of their PU Admission Test result counted towards final merit calculation. However, for engineering programs, this weightage increases to 33%.
This test-based merit policy aligns with national trends that emphasize both academic performance and entry-level assessment to ensure transparent admissions.

Special Admission Test for PU College of Arts & Design
Students applying to the College of Art & Design (PUCAD) must take a mandatory aptitude and drawing test, which requires a minimum 50% score. This applies to all visual arts programs including:
- Fine Arts, Sculpture, Graphic Design, Textile Design, Printmaking

Self-Supporting Programs & Regional Access
