The 68th edition of Pakistani premier first-class cricket event “Quaid-e-Azam Trophy” will start from Monday, October 6, 2025. Ten regional teams will participate across four cities and five venues with defending champions Sialkot aiming to retain their title.

New Rule for Player Development
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that each team must include at least one Under-21 player in their playing XI. This step aims to provide more opportunities to emerging talent and strengthen Pakistan’s domestic cricket structure.

Background: Sialkot’s Title Defense
In the previous edition, Sialkot clinched the title after a thrilling one-wicket victory over Peshawar in the final. Both teams will once again face each other in the opening fixture which is being dubbed as the biggest clash of the tournament.
PCB’s Statement
According to a PCB spokesperson:
“The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is the backbone of Pakistan cricket. It not only provides opportunities for young players but also serves as the primary selection ground for the national team.”
He added that, following the board’s recent reforms, there has been a significant improvement in competitiveness, transparency and digital accessibility within domestic cricket.
The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2025-26 is the most prominent event in Pakistan’s cricket calendar. In which young and experienced players will show the essence of their skills. All matches will be a source of entertainment not only for cricket fans. But it will also lay the foundation for the future of Pakistan cricket.
