Samsung Electronics has confirmed the expansion of its One UI 8 beta program, bringing Android 16-based features to more Galaxy devices. The program, first introduced with the Galaxy S25 series in May, will now include the Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold6, and Galaxy Z Flip6 from next week in Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, and India.
The beta rollout aims to collect user feedback before the official release, expected to begin in September starting with the Galaxy S25 lineup.

New AI and multimodal features
The One UI 8 beta is designed to enhance Galaxy AI experiences, offering smarter, context-aware interactions. The update supports multimodal capabilities that process real-time context for more natural responses.
When paired with Galaxy Buds3 or Buds3 Pro, users can activate Google’s Gemini assistant via voice or a long press on either earbud. Samsung says the interface improvements will also make multitasking more efficient, especially on foldable devices.
Security update before beta launch
This week, Samsung released the August 2025 security patch for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. The patch — 478.65MB in India (firmware S92xBXXS4BYH1) and 315.15MB in Korea (firmware S92xNKSS9BYG8) — is expected to be the final software update before the beta rollout.
To install, go to Settings → Software update → Download and install, or download the package manually via Odin.

One UI 8 Watch also expanding
Later this year, One UI 8 Watch will extend beyond the Galaxy Watch8 series, offering new motivational health tools and an improved smartwatch interface for older watch models.
